Sylvie Paz’s music is a whirlwind, an enveloping storm that gathers you up and takes you on a journey through the Andalousian land of her ancestors – a world of flounced skirts and rhythmic heels – blended with a South American beat and a touch of New York Latin jazz.

Born to Spanish parents from Algeria and based in Marseille, Sylvie Paz learnt her skills and started singing within the bosom of the family.

Having graced stages around the world with her band Barrio Chino, she is now establishing a solo career, without, of course, abandoning her old tribe (first album Tirititran with Raul Paz, Gustavo Ovalles & El Choune).

The new CD places her in the tradition of the great Latin divas. On the Kairos project, she collaborates with the pianist Perrine Mansuy, Laktop DJ OIL, Bassist Bernard Menu and percussionist Xavier Sanchez. Kairos is a greek word for the right time, an opportune moment.
